1. VASCULAR SURGERY
Seven years of practice required, out of which:

years in General Surgery

years in Vascular Surgery

semester in Thoracic Surgery and

semester in Cardiosurgery (in an accredited Clinic that provides the speciality
in Thoracic Surgery and has a Cardiosurgery Department).
2.HAEMATOLOGY
Six
years of practice required, out of which:
-2
years in Internal Medicine or Pediatrics and
-4
years in Hematology, as follows:
2
years in Clinical Hematology (Clinic and Outpatients’ Department) with the
following principal modules:
-Diseases of erythrocytes
-Myeloproliferative syndromes
-Lymphoproliferative syndromes
-Marrow transplantation and transfusion Medicine
The
above training includes the necessary invasive maneuvers (suction/marrow and
lymph gland biopsy) and laboratory tests (blood cells, marrow, lymph gland and
other tissues morphology).
1 ½
year in Laboratory Hematology with the following principal modules:
-Examination of Hemolytic syndromes and Hemoglobinopathies (with requisite
“exposure” to the respective nuclear medicine)
-Examination of myeloproliferative and lymphoproliferative syndromes (with
requisite minor practice in a pathologoanatomical laboratory).
-Research into the disorders of the hemostatic mechanism and the diseases of
immunoglobulins.

months in Blood Donation.
3. RADIODIAGNOSTICS(CLINICAL RADIOLOGY)
Five
years of practice required, out of which:
-2 ½
years in typical radiology
-2 ½
years in modern imaging methods including definitely: ultrasonic tomography,
computerized axial tomography, magnetic tomography, angiography.
4. RADIOTHERAPY-ONCOLOGY
Four
years of practice required, out of which:
-6
months in basic radiology sciences
-6
months in internal medicine (if it is a laboratory that provides a speciality
and it does not have a clinic)
-3
years in radiotherapy and oncology, of which: alternately in departments
providing the proper technological equipment, to wit, one semester in a
department that provides brachytherapy equipment (gynecological and
interstitial) and one semester in a department that provides a linear
accelerator with electrons and photons.
5. ALLERGIOLOGY
Five
years of practice required, out of which:

years in Internal Medicine or Pediatrics and
-3
years in Allergiology as follows:

year as follows: 6 months in Immunology (clinical laboratory) and every 3 months
Physiology Laboratory in respiration and Dermatology

years in Clinical Allergiology
6. ANAESTHETICS
Five
years of total practice required, out of which:
-30
months in anesthesia in basic surgery specialities (general surgery, urology,
orthopedics, Otorhinolaryngology, etc).

months in cardiology

months in pneumonology

months in obstetric anesthesia
-3
months in anesthesia in thoracic surgery

months in anesthesia in neurosurgery

months in children-anesthesia

months in the intensive care unit

Training in pneumonology and cardiology is carried out within the first two
years of speciality.
During the period of training in obstetric anesthesia and children anesthesia,
trainees shall be on duty in those departments and in the intensive care units.
For
the remaining period, trainees shall be on duty at the hospital at which they
were appointed.

11. OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE
Four
years of practice required, out of which:
a)
28 months of clinical practice of which:

of practice in an outpatients’ ophthalmological department of a hospital

months of practice of which 6 months at a business or agency, wherein there is
an organized service of Occupational Medicine and 2 months at a labour
inspection office or at the Labour Hygienics & Safety Centre of the Ministry of
Labour.
These units are identified as proper for the practice of medical doctors by the
decision of the Minister of Health, Welfare and Social Insurance following the
opinion of the Central Health Council.
12. FORENSIC MEDICINE
Three years of practice required, out of which:

13. CARDIOLOGY
Six
years of practice required, out of which:

years in Clinical Internal Medicine and

acute myocardial infarctions.

1 year in theoretical training in the Social Medicine Field at a higher
education institute (AEI) or at the Sanitary School, in the fields of
Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Social sciences, Preventive Medicine, Environmental
Medicine, principles of Programming, Health Finance, Nutrition and Health
Services Administration.
c)
2 years of practice at a Hospital in the Surgery or Psychiatry Field and
in Obstetrics-Gynecology, Pediatrics, of which:

year at a Hospital and

year at a Health Centre
15. CYTOLOGY
Five
years of practice required, out of which:

19. RENAL MEDICINE (NEPHROLOGY)

20. NEUROSURGERY

years of practice required, out of which:

years in Neurosurgery, 2 semesters of which optionally and upon application of
the trainee selecting two among the related surgery specialities: Children
Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Orthopedics, Thoracic Surgery.
21. ORTHOPEDICS
Ministerial decision no. A4/4063/81 (GG 631/B/81).
Six
years of practice required, out of which:
-1
year in General Surgery focusing on Urgent Surgical Trauma
-4
years of practice in Orthopedics and Traumatology and in particular:
-3
years in Orthopedics and Traumatology of adults
-1
year in Orthopedics and Traumatology of children
-1
year (2 semesters) opting for two of the following, 1 semester each: Plastic
Surgery or Neurosurgery or Vascular Surgery or Thoracic Surgery or Intensive
Care Unit or sub-specialities in Orthopedics such as: Hand, Sport injuries, or
in an Oncology Department (musculoskeletal tumors) or in a Spinal Column
Diseases Unit.
The
year of Children Orthopedics should be carried out either at Children Orthopedic
Hospitals or at Orthopedic
Clinics or Orthopedic Departments providing outpatients’ departments for
children wherein children orthopedic operations are actually performed, the
number of which shall be determined in the detailed training course that shall
follow in relation to the medical specialties.
The
two semesters of option shall not be carried out in the last year of the
specialty.
22. UROLOGY
Five
years of practice required, out of which:
-1
year in General Surgery
-3
years in Urology
-2
semesters opting for two of the following surgery specialities (1 semester
each): Gynecology, Plastic Surgery, Children Surgery and Children Urology.
The
training of Urologists should include their practice in the diagnosis and
treatment of diseases of the following modules: Urine Incontinence and
urodynamics, Pediatric urology, Andrology and infertility, Urologic oncology,
injuries, Urolithiasis, Transplantations of kidney and Endocrinology related to
the urogenital system. Laparoscopic Urology, use of Ultrasounds and Laser.
23. OPHTHALMOLOGY
Four
years of practice is required in Ophthalmology.
24.INTERNAL MEDICINE
Five
years of practice is required in Internal Medicine.
1st
and 2nd year: focusing on the clinical test (history and semiotics)
and on the clinical evaluation of the usual laboratory tests. Also, teaching the
usual diagnostic and therapeutic acts that supplement and complete the clinical
test (punctures, ophthalmoscopy, peripheral blood test, electrocardiogram,
thorax X-ray, etc). Giving the initiative to solve and tackle typical problems.
3rd
and 4th year: Practice in the solution of unfavourable and complex
problems of clinical differential diagnostics. Practice in the writing and
presentation of cases before an audience. Review of modern issues of
specialities (bibliographical documentation). Practice in clinical
pathologoanatomic cases (CPC). Progressively trainees shall be charged with
more responsibilities at the outpatients’ department, the emergency department
and the Clinic.
In
the third term of the fourth year to perform compulsory duty in a cardiology
unit and in the last term of the same year in the Intensive Care Unit.
5th
year: In the first semester of this year trainees shall be entitled to opt for a
three-months service in some of the sub-specialities and specializations of the
principal speciality (in this case, that of Internal Medicine),
25. HISTOPATHOLOGY (PATHOLOGIC ANATOMY)
Five
years of practice required, out of which:
-the
first 4 years include training and practice in the technique and histopathology
of the necrotomy and in the histopathology of all systems, with the application
of general and special methods of histochemistry, immunohistochemistry,
molecular biology, electronic microscopy, etc.
-The
fifth year includes practice in cytology.
26. PAEDIATRICS
Four
years of practice required, out of which:
-3
years in General Pediatric Clinic, including the outpatients’ departments and
special pediatric units at a hospital.
-6
months in Neonatology and problem newly-born children.
-6
months with the option of 1-2 months in pediatric specialities.
27. CHILD & ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRY
Four
and a half years of practice required, out of which:
-6
months in Clinical Neurology
-18
months in Clinical Psychiatry of adults, working also at the outpatients’
department.
-2 ½
years of Child Psychiatry: one year in the Children Psychiatric department of a
Hospital and one year in a Medical Children Centre.
During the two-years training, a medical doctor is required to acquire work
experience in special schools and centers for children with intellectual,
psychological and physical disabilities, in juvenile protection corporations,
juvenile courts, reformatories, orphanages, therapeutic children teaching
centers, mental centers in schools and school concept centers, in other special
institutes for children under the supervision of the director of the children
psychiatric department of the hospital or the medical children-teaching center.
Until the medical children teaching centers operate with the proper staffing and
activity, trainees shall be specialized in children teaching departments of
hospitals.
28. PLASTIC SURGERY
Six
years of practice required, out of which:
-2
years in General Surgery
-3
years in Plastic Surgery
-2
semesters opting for two of the following surgery specialities (1 semester
each): Gynecology, Urology, Otorhinolaryngology, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery,
Children Surgery, Thoracic Surgery).
29. NUCLEAR MEDICINE
Five
years of practice required, out of which:
-1
year in Internal Medicine
-6
years in Radiology
-3
years in Nuclear Medicine as follows:
-5
months of theoretic training
-1
month of practical exercises
-2 ½
years of practice in the department of nuclear medicine (imaging research,
therapeutic and in vitro tests)

months, opting for: Oncology, Cardiology, Pediatrics, Endocrinology
30. RHEUMATOLOGY
Six
years of practice required, out of which:

years in Internal Medicine and 4 years in Rheumatology as follows:

years in Theoretical and practical training in Rheumatology and

year in orthopedics clinic, with rheumatologic cases, physical medicine and
rehabilitation centers and immunology laboratory.
31. RESPIRATORY MEDICINE (PNEUMONOLOGY-SCIENCE OF TUBERCULOSIS)
Five
years of practice required, out of which:

years in Internal Medicine (exclusively in Pathology Clinics)

months in Pneumonology-Tuberculosis Science (6 months optionally in Radiology
Laboratory, Cardiology or Thoracic Surgery Clinic) and

year in Neurology, 9 months of which in Clinical Neurology and 3 months in
Neurophysiology, Neurosurgery and Neuroradiology

years in Clinical Psychiatry (in inpatients’ Psychiatric department and in
outpatients’ departments) of which not more than 1 year in clinics of chronic
patients

months in Psychiatric Forensic Medicine

months in Psychiatric Clinic at a General Hospital

months in Community Psychiatry (in a community center of Mental Health and in
intermediate psychiatric structures)

Within the framework of the practice in Clinical Psychiatry, the substance
addiction conditions (toxic mania, alcoholism) are also included (in addition to
the clinical psychiatry of adults).
From
the second semester of the 2nd year of speciality, trainees should be
trained parallel to the other practice, Psychotherapy included.
37. OTORHINOLARYNGOLOGY
Five
years of practice required, out of which:
-1
year in General Surgery
-3
years in Otorhinolaryngology

months in Neurosurgery and
-6
months in Plastic Surgery.
38.
PATHOLOGIC ONCOLOGY
1.The
medical speciality in Pathologic Oncology is established, including the
diagnosis, the pharmaceutics or generally the conservative therapy
(chemotherapy), the support and the coordination of the overall treatment of
patients with malignant neoplasias from the beginning of the diagnosis to the
final stage.
2.Six (6) years of practice is required to obtain the medical speciality in
Pathologic Oncology, as follows:
-3
years in Internal Medicine, of which 6 months practice in Hematology.
-3
years in Pathologic Oncology.
